The CMS Education Foundation is proud to announce the recipients of the 2025 Foundation Scholarships — an honor typically awarded to just two students each year. This year, the Scholarship Selection Committee faced an inspiring challenge: a three-way tie among exceptional finalists. This year, the Foundation is awarding three $5,000 scholarships to recognize these outstanding Clovis High School seniors whose academic achievement, leadership, and community service reflect the very best of our schools.

All three recipients were honored during the Hall of Honors Banquet on May 17, 2025, at the Clovis Civic Center, alongside other distinguished alumni and community members.

Katy Archey, a National Merit Finalist and multi-sport athlete, has served in Student Council leadership all four years, captained the varsity basketball team, and contributed to her community through church, youth sports coaching, and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Overcoming challenges with epilepsy, she will attend the University of Oklahoma to study GeoEnergy Engineering and has been selected for the prestigious OU President’s Leadership Class.

Nathan Bjorklund, an accomplished musician and scholar with a 4.02 GPA, has earned numerous state honors in band, jazz band, and choir. An Eagle Scout, he organized a Beginning Band Fair that brought together 58 volunteers for 220 service hours. Active in the Clovis Community Band and Choir, he will attend Eastern New Mexico University to study music education, aspiring to inspire and mentor future generations of musicians.

Samuel Hartman, National Honor Society President in 10th grade and a Senior Standout in 2025, has excelled in AP and honors courses while leading and serving in his community. He has volunteered as media manager for Pawprints of Portales Rescue and assisted with media projects at Clovis Community College. An eSports state champion and former concert band member, Samuel will attend the University of New Mexico’s Honors College and Anderson School of Management to study business.

“These students are extraordinary examples of academic excellence, leadership, and service,” said Lonnie Leslie, vice president of development of the CMS Education Foundation. “Their applications were inspiring to read, and we are honored to invest in their future.”
