The Clovis Municipal Schools Education Foundation hosted a heartfelt celebration of achievement, friendship, and community pride at the 2025 Hall of Honors Banquet on Saturday, May 17, at the Clovis Civic Center. Over 150 guests enjoyed a luncheon program filled with inspiring stories, shared memories, and world-class entertainment provided by the talented Top Cats band.
The afternoon’s highlight was the induction of three distinguished honorees whose achievements have brought pride to Clovis and inspired generations.
Jaye Crockett – Business & Entertainment
A 2009 graduate of Clovis High School, Jaye Crockett has built an extraordinary professional basketball career spanning 11 years and multiple continents, earning championships, MVP honors, and all-star selections. Off the court, he invests in real estate, mentors young athletes, and supports his hometown through free sports clinics, motivational speaking, and service with civic organizations. Honored in 2014 with a mayoral proclamation of “Jaye Day,” Jaye remains a proud ambassador of Clovis.
Drew Merritt – Business & Entertainment
Raised on a cattle ranch in St. Vrain, Drew Merritt transformed youthful graffiti into a globally recognized art career. Known for emotionally charged murals and oil paintings blending classical and contemporary styles, his work spans sculptures, children’s book illustrations, and large-scale public art. Despite international acclaim, Drew honors his Clovis roots, including the donation of a family portrait to Plains Regional Medical Center that still hangs today.
Joyce Pollard – Top Cat Award
A dedicated educator and civil rights advocate, Joyce Pollard taught in Clovis schools for nearly 30 years and continued as a substitute teacher for 16 more. The first African American woman to serve at the local Motor Vehicle Department, she has led initiatives honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., expanded scholarship opportunities for Clovis students, and championed the preservation of local history. Her service continues through leadership roles with the MLK Jr. Commission, Lincoln Jackson Alumni Association, and PRMC Foundation.
The program began with a moving presentation of colors by the Clovis High School Junior ROTC Honor Guard, whose precise and patriotic performance set a fitting tone for the day’s celebrations.
